Ireland Heading Down The Shit-Chute
What is it about people who, when they are given charge of their country having been elected to government etc, loose wholly the ability to remain connected with reality?
I refer of course to the budget announced today by the government in Dáil Eireann. Is it realistic to accept that these idiots know what they are doing. They are not governing, they are without the confidence of the electorate and they are treating us like the fools we are for putting up with their shyte for so long. Bock is 100% correct when he suggests that the government take back the Corrib gas field they gave away free, gratis to the Shell corporation. Bock mentions a sum of €13 billion as being the value of this lost asset!
The bankers and the issues surrounding their criminal activities, (activities in which the government are directly complicit in; my opinion) Here’s a line directly from McWilliams’ blog (link below);
We have the same institutions that failed to predict anything now charged with overseeing the recovery
You get the picture.
But what if I’m wrong about these idiots not knowing what they are doing? What if they in fact do know exactly what they are doing? Where does that leave us when the budget they brought out this evening does not deal with the crises and with the people and institutions that are now free of all worry of having to pay for their criminal activities which caused all this in the first place?
I suggest the latter opinion may be correct given that the taxpayer is now fucked. Absolutely fucked, bollixed and hopefully getting angrier by the second. This government have zero credibility in this country.
They have attacked children again!
They have attacked young families again!
They have done nothing to their banker speculator buddies. They have in fact let them off the hook. No politician, former or current will pay for their active part in creating this crisis, (try Bertie for instance, who oversaw the entire fuck-up and then fucked off with a ton of dosh) only the taxpaying citizen will feel the pain.
The finance Minister during his budget speech stated that they would vigorously enforce the law in debts outstanding. Like if a family owe money to a bank for a mortgage say, they will probably end up in jail for not helping the economy to recover by their failure to pay back their loan! Am I reading this wrong? We’ll see. I wonder how long before we see the first kick from the fucked over citizen.
This government deserve to be put up against a wall and shot. Every single member.
They deserve something else? Like a bonus maybe!

“it is better to light a candle than to rage against the dark” As someone or other said. We may have lit a candle but can we keep it alight?
hmmmm
I think it’s time to get out on the streets. We’re all going to end up living on the fucking things anyway.
Mule Taker; you hit the nail on the head! Bulls eye! It’s all this that the fuck-head government refuse to acknowledge. They are not of this planet.
Its more like 34 Billion if u take into account the gas and oilfields combined.
That was a conservative estimate almost 2 years ago.
[...] jobs but in ways all 3 of us are lucky that we do not have children because yesterdays budget. As Unstranger has said this budget is one that attacks children. Anyway coming back to the point. Jobs, [...]

Ok.
You’ve cited people who know a lot about the subject and have the power to rationally make a change, but they won’t.
Then there’s people like me who haven’t a clue but will do it anyway. Revolution is a frightening thing, but somebody has to do it, even if it is powered by a complete political dunce.
If a revolution was to be on the cards, what would it look like? How seriously would you take it?
Would people be seriously motivated enough to join the cause or are we STILL couch supporters? Apathy still rules the day after all… seems to me that the Irish have lost their fire. We’ve no-one left to be loyal to.
Perhaps this is true, but I live in hope.

This is what happens in a free maket economy. This is the politics we elected. Its like eating junkfood for 20 yrs and then going protesting against the government because you say they told you that fast food was healthy. Ireland and the people are been punished for stupidity. All these people with their thick skulls emerged in east enders and tabloids, talking about celebrities tits and sport and now their fucked. Its too late you should have listened to the people on the left in stead of laughing them of as anti progress. So for all those people with their fat bellies and empty wallet who have just discovered the world of politics..Free market economy is like going on holidays for a year and leaving your front and back door open and expecting nothing to be robbed. There is no solution to Ireland situation..Its years too late for that..Im a shamed to come from a country that allowed economic imperialism to rape it, especially with our history. So good night celtic tiger, sleep well..
